How to use the solver
After a guess, Puzzico marks each letter three ways. Copy those clues here: put a confirmed letter in its slot under green; put each letter that showed yellow in the same column under yellow — it’s in the word, just not that spot; and list letters that aren’t in the word under grey. Press Find words and you’ll get every accepted five-letter word that matches. The more clues you add, the shorter the list.
A worked example
Say you opened with STARE and the board came back: S grey, T grey, A yellow, R grey, E green. That tells you E is locked in the last slot, A is in the word but not in the third spot, and S, T and R are out. Type an E in the fifth green box, put A in the third yellow box, and STR under grey, then press Find words. Because A can’t sit in slot 3, you’ll get a tidy shortlist — words such as MAYBE, BADGE and GAUGE — to choose your next guess from.
Best opening words (and the worst)
A strong first guess tests common letters. Openers like CRANE, SLATE, AUDIO and ROATE cover the vowels and the frequent consonants E, A, R, T, L, S and N that show up in a large share of answers — the fastest way to feed the solver useful clues.
Weak openers do the opposite. Words leaning on rare letters (J, Q, X, Z) or stacked with repeats — think FUZZY, JAZZY or MUMMY — spend a whole turn testing letters that seldom appear. Keep those in reserve for when the clues actually point at them. Want more? See the full strategy tips.

Does the solver know today’s answer?
No. It only filters the public list of accepted guesses against your clues. The day’s answer is never sent to your browser, so the tool can’t reveal it.
Why do some results look like rare words?
The accepted-guess dictionary is large and includes valid but uncommon words. Add another clue — one more yellow or grey — and the list quickly shrinks to familiar options.
Can I use it for hard mode?
Yes. Enter every clue you already have and each suggestion will respect all of them — exactly what hard mode requires.
